Digitone as Rhodes

+1 for the reface cp

You can def. get some pretty good rhodes-like sounds from the DN. I have a few I’ve created that will be in the DN soundpack I’m going to release when it’s done. It may not be exact, but it could fill the spot if you don’t have a proper emulator or samples.

I have recommended the Reface CP but after having had it for two weeks at home I actually have to un-recommend it… I find it does sound too plasticky (probably it something about the modeling sound, I had a similar feeling when I tried pianoteq 6) , and the form factor doesn’t cut it for me. I have bought Spitfire Audio North 7 instead (it is on sale till the end of February for 174€) and I find it much much better option, although it is software (which works for me).

You might look into picking up an old Roland JV1080. They have some decent Rhodes sounds in them, and they are dirt cheap to buy now.

nice - any idea as to when you’re going to release?

Not at the moment. I’m not really in a rush as I’m working on a bunch of stuff at the moment. I have a bit over 100 sounds so far, and I’d love to have at least 128, if not a full bank.

I sold mine and regret it, but needed to clear some space. Does anyone know a plugin that sounds as good?

post here when you do

Always I’ve tested a demo of pianoteq, but I love it. I have differents plugins based on samples (kontakt) but I always feel that it miss something. And that it comes the Reface . Anyway, i think pianoteq it’s a good alternative too, and you can try the demo before to buy.

Hello,

I am not a specialist in FM synthesis (completely novice). I am very interested in a rhodes piano sound made by digitone to do a cover in my group. Where can I find patches with sounds close to a Rhodes ? How to start creating your patch?

thank you for your help.
