Sounds like my Virus TI2, drives me nuts. Can’t say I’ve ever had it happens with an Elektron though.
Don’t mean to insult your intelligence, but is it pushed all the way in? And of course, is it the official power supply?
yes its all in and is the proper psu
so frustrating as i got a replacement unit as the first one had the same issue.
posting on here as i assume that i am not the only one.
a faulty batch perhaps ???
Some other people had a similar issue. I believe @nonhorizon had to send one in for repair to fix this same problem.
yep i need to set up a support ticket with elektron for repair.
such a great sunth and ive never had hardware problems with anynof my other elektron boxes
Typically this is either :
A faulty/broken cable from power supply. ( Replace PSU. )
A broken connector inside the system. ( The Digitone in this case. ) ( Repair Digitone power connector. )
This can also be operator error in some less common situations if the power connector is not properly seated.
I can’t dig very much right now but here’s at least one topic where 2 people had the same issue and at least one of them had it repaired by elektron.
I had the same issue and sent it back to Elektron for repair under warranty. In my case, it was the DC barrel connector inside the Digitone 2. It took about 3–4 weeks.
thanks for the info
i knew this must be a common thing
im just creating a ticket now and ill see what they say
if it takes a month but its sorted then i can deall with that time frame
Exactly the same situation here.
Yikes! I’ve never had this issue on any of my Elektrons. However, I have a nearly debilitating case of OCD where power connections are concerned. Always making sure there’s zero strain on things.
After replacing hundreds of phone chargers from my kids resting their USB connectors on things until they eventually fail, I’m just naturally always monitoring cable strain ![]()
Hope they sort it quickly for you!
I am also having the same issue with a Digitone 2, any movement of the power cable causes the device to reboot, I will raise a support ticket
Yes, it’s definitely better to do it now while you still have the full warranty coverage.
Mine did this last week, really frustrating, it happened to my analog four too, but I bought a new PSU and that solved the issue on the A4. I’ll try a different power supply on the DN2 this week, but may have to send mine back too whilst still just under warranty. Thanks for letting us know it’s perhaps a common thing.
I got in touch with Elektron and they’re sending me a new replacement PSU, but said if that doesn’t solve it, they can take the machine in for repair no probs in the new year. Very good customer service!
Sounds like the power supply cable is damaged. A multimeter or oscilloscope would figure that out quite quickly.
Be sure to let us know the result. ![]()
I used the same power cable in syntakt with no issues so it’s not cable issue. Spoken to Elektron today and they are going to repair it under warranty will let you all know how smoothly it goes
tried a third party my volts PSU I bought for my A4 and that seemed to be more solid connection. It may just be a loose fit/tolerance on the barrel jack/socket, but yeah hopefully can test that with the replacement PSU they’re sending.
