Digitech Studio Quad V2

Decided to get them out again and rack them recently, got x2 in immaculate condition do you think they’re relevant today?

I was intending to use the Digitech’s with my modular gear, yes or no?

Yes, I have V1 and I love that thing. It’s something magical with that thing in my opinion!

Effects are always a question of personal taste; switch them on and see how they fit into your music.

I have one in my setup, and love it. Lot of routing options, decent effects. It is mostly used as an insert effect for one or more synths.

Yeah I think I’ll keep a hold of mine, the thing is I have old gear in “As New Condition” from back in the day and I hate to part with that stuff and quite frankly they just don’t make gear like they used to so the x2 Digitech Studio Quad V2’s stay :+1:

For myself, I can say that I am extremely picky with digital reverbs in the box. Except for Abletons Reverb plugin I have not found a reverb plugin that I am 100% satisfied with.

But when I recently bought Digitech Studio Quad V1 for almost nothing I really I got surprised by how hardware gear from the 90 are supreme to some of the reverb plugins of today. It just has a lovely character and that’s quite rare for a digital reverb/delay/multi effect unit.

Only problem I had was PSU’s going bad. There’s a Digitech pedal board that shares the same PSU tho.

Did you know it’s really cheap to get the upgrade from V1 to V2 ? It’s like £14 gbp

Yeah, I have seen that on reverb. I will upgrade when I have time to upgrade it. Do you know if soldering is required?

No soldering required mate, just slip in the new eprom for the old one it’s a 2 minute job :+1:

No problem mate. I’m thinking of grabbing another 2 Studio Quads I love the delays and reverbs, great compressors too. Infact for a 25yr old effect rack these sound top notch. Cheap as chips on eBay too :+1:

Okay, so it resides compressors as well. I will explore it more soon.

My unit is far from mint and I need to do a factory reset every time I use it. After that I can use it. Do you think V 2.0 eprom will help with that issue?

Mine started going flaky like that that and it was down to the PSU

Okay, interesting. Did you find a replacement PSU?

After a bit of searching I found a guitar multi fx floorboard that shared the same PSU so I bought that second hand. At the time I couldn’t find a replacement PSU, it’s got an oddball connector as it’s not just a standard DC plug

Yeah, the connector is really odd and old school. What’s the name of the guitar multi fx floorboard?
