I love my Digitakt for all it’s conditional trig weirdness, but I having an issue figuring out to do a simple task. When using samplers like a Roland SPDS, I can trigger a sample by hitting the pad, and stop it at any point by hitting the same pad again. Is there any way for the Digitakt to do the exact same thing??
I think you could do this using an endless amp decay and loop sample playback.
Not 100% sure though, I‘m not at the machine atm.
I’m not sure if it has this function. I usually accomplish this by using a trig to set the amp or sample volume to zero and give it a trig condition for pre determined looping. The only problem is that there either needs to be a trig or a trigless trig right after to bring the level back up so if your sequence is complex it can be difficult to implement. Mind you this only works when sequencing too.
Simple answer: No.
All workarounds I can think of involves an external midi processor or an intelligent external controller which can send note on and note off separately.
Thanks for the replies all. Seems like it won’t work the way I’d want.
The SP-505 does that, too - unless the sample is a ‘drum’ sample. Press once to start the loop or whatever and another time to stop. Must be a Roland Phrase Sampler thing. Maybe a 505 is what you are after
