Digitakt, SH-01A and MIDI

Anyone who has experience with midi and these machines? I can’t get the SH to change bank from the DT.

The SH-01A only has 64 patch memories, in a single “bank”.

It does not respond to Bank Change. Only Program Change, as per MIDI spec at https://static.roland.com/assets/media/pdf/SH-01A_MIDI_Imple_Chart_eng01_W.pdf

how do you like the SH-01A so far? does it sound pretty good in person?

Ah, got confused since it is divided into ”t1-8” and ”1-8” in the SH… Thanks

Just had it for a day but to me it sounds awesome. Very interesting instrument! I see why it is an iconic synth, incredibly simple to use and very musical.

wow, received it yesterday.
Suprised by it’s versatile sound in such a small parameter context Sliders and pots are a bit wobbly, but workable: paramter slider/pot takeover function would be handy. also dotn accidentally bump with a finger against a slider, it ll be moved completely easily since its size

realtime midi input sequencing, midi file import, midi clock but no start/stop all missing, please roland it must have been requested since the 1st boutique series a thousand times at least

I had some initial pain points.
#1 Critical setting on SH01a - make sure you disable the Thru
#2. You can make Progam and Bank changes esaily when on a Midi Track choose SRC.
Use Encoders C & D to set bank.

You may also have to change the Clock source on your SHO1a…

I’m digging in deep right now with this and my Moog Mother 32. / Hydryasynth.

7 years later, I’m probably sure it was answered.

But nice to see your input.

Welcome to Elektronauts.

Not really… The answers did not help me. So I shared an actual solution.

What I meant is @io probably got his answer from somewhere else or she/he’s got patience as a virtue.
