It was not overlooked, but intended.
I think it was an intention that absolutely nobody asked for or wanted. (As in let the users have the ability to save chaina or play live.) If that’s their logic, then remove it across the board for all their products, right? I mean, they let you create chains, so why not let you save them?

I totally agree that the inability to save pattern chains is, for a lack of a better term, stupid.
Saving pattern chains would essentially provide a song mode feature, which Elektron has been reluctant to embrace on the Digitakt, Syntakt, and Digitone despite request after request. Elektron has never explained their rationale for this decision.

I don’t think that is what’s being conveyed. Song mode is nice, yes. Not everyone uses it. BUT…you CAN get on without it. There are plenty of ways to handle it.
It is convenient tho.
