A linear LFO is just a counter or âvariableâ incremented by a set amount at every tick of the internal clock, and reset at the appropriate time. Itâs not much more work to compute other LFO shapes and envelopes. The low frequency means that processing power isnât the determining factor in how many of these are at hand. Itâs the user interface and not burying things too deep in menus. The Analog Four, an older device, has a whole whack of LFOs and envelopes.
My guess is it is more programming/ math tricks and not an lfo they are using in the background, there are still some things unique to the DIY timestrech techniques
well yes, with Push, looping and predetermined loop length are possible and works pretty well but I got rid of my Push a while ago because I never really used it enough. My point is, Live is built around the concept of looping- so it would make sense to be able to set your loop length ahead of time, and that should come standard. Shouldnât have to buy a $799 controller just to get that feature. Itâs ridiculous. Thanks for this though. Digitakt is looking better and better every day. I sold mine a day before the last big mind-blowing firmware update.
same got mine for $600 lightly used in 2017 and its literally appreciated in value lmao
What If your pattern is in 3/4 or 6/8 time? Will the new Slice machine be understand that 6 steps is âlogicalâ for that pattern?
hmmâŚgood questionâŚ
I caved. Picked up a mint used one locally for $600. Got it home and it had 1.1 on it. Iâm expecting a call at some point about wanting to buy it back when he discovers 1.5
Well, not really. Slice mode works with a fixed Grid of 1, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 slices. Letâs say you have it set to 8 slices, then using âadd lineair locksâ will just lock the first 6 of those 8 slices to the 6 trigs.
So itâs not eh smart in that sense
I bought a used one too. Never mentioned 1.5 to the guy. Hope he doesnât find out until he ships it
It does work like that but the LFO trick doesnât do zero crossing. So Iâm assuming this is smoother.
Will see when my 3rd Digitakt arrives :))
I was just watching the EZBOT & Mario YT video about the new OS and I somehow had the feeling that a new OT mk3 is coming soon. It makes sense to me at least.
a question for digitakt users: with the new uodate it is now possible to pitch an entire loop in such a way that it still remains in sync with the current tempo.
does it really work perfectly? so there are no clicks or anything like that?
an additional question would be whether it is really possible to time stretch individual sounds - does that work? so I have e.g. a tom and would now like to drag this out.
does it really work perfectly?
So far yes. Mainly used it for breaks and chord loops and the results sound pleasant to me.

So you mean to stretch the sound while keeping the pitch? You might be able to achieve this partially with werp, but I donât think that the result will sound smooth. The best option might be to use slice: Chop it up in 64 slices and then use the forward loop mode to loop certain bits. I will have a go at this this evening and let you know.
If anything, they likely shelved the idea and added the machines they worked on for it to the DT instead.
Thank you. if the loops can be pitched smoothly in the song tempo, then thatâs really a damn cool feature.
yes, i mean e.g. a short sample, which can then be stretched out. or a pad with different chords, which can then be stretched - for ambient e.g., as with the plugin PaulXStretch.
Repitch mode doesnât stretch the sample. It repitches it as a turntable or tape reel does (pitch and duration are not decoupled)
Guys thanks a LOOOOOOOT about this crazy awesome update !!!
Yours devices are soooooo cool to use, so inspiring and the updates you do are always some so well pieces of work!!!
