Digitakt not responding to CC messages

Tearing my hair out here and hoping someone can point out something I have missed after a morning of reading manuals, searching YouTube videos and this forum. Trying to connect my Faderbank 16n controller via MIDI In to control Track volume 1-8 with 8 faders for live performance. Each fader is set channel 1-8 with CC 95 but Digitakt is not responding (also tried a bunch of other CCs but nothing is responding). I have set Port Config to receive CC messages, Input from MIDI, and Tracks 1-8 are set to Channels 1-8

I have checked using Ableton and MIDI data is being sent on the right channels from Faderbank. And I know MIDI In on Digitakt is working since I have previously recorded MIDI sequences from BeatStep Pro.

Is there anything obvious that I have missed here? Thanks so much in advance

How are they connected? The website says the Faderbank by default sends midi over usb. Try changing the Input to MIDI+USB or USB then?

Thanks for the thoughts. I am connecting via the TRS Midi out to the Digitakt Midi In. I have also tried connecting by USB and nothing on the Digitakt end. The Faderbank is definitely sending data out as when connected directly by USB, I can see the faders moving the data on the Faderbank config page.

It just seems like there is something on the Digitakt that is not passing CC messages along but I can’t figure it out for the life of me.

Are you using the right type of trs midi adapter?

This is my guess.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried multiple adapters with no luck. The Faderbank has a handy switch to change between the two different TRS Midi implementations and I have tried both with different adapters

Did you ever find a solution for this? I am having the same problem.

I had similar problem few days ago when I connected MIDI keyboard to Digitakt. First everything was working then Digitakt stopped responding to CC/notes while Ableton was still working fine with the same keyboard.

Turned out my keyboard was prioritizing USB MIDI, so while it was connected to my powered on computer via USB (just for power), the OS (and so the Ableton) was “stealing” MIDI communication.

Long story short - if you power your device from USB, try not doing it from powered on computer. It can mess your DIN MIDI communication.

That was it! Wow, just when I started to loose hope of finding a solution, you really saved me a huge headache. Can now control the Digitakt using the 16n fader bank trs to din midi dongle set to type K (korg, makenoise).
Cant thank you enough @Fantazyoosh
