Digitakt issue: Number keys keep on after a reboot or reset

Hi all,

I have a strange problem on my digitakt.
I used it with OS 1.40 without problems for some time. Today i started the digitakt and the ‘1’ and ‘2’ keys lit up white and ‘3’ yellow as soon as i powered up the digitakt. Can’t get them out. I performed a reset but that didn’t help.

I’ve created a support ticket at elektron.

I have 2 questions:

  1. Anyone else encountered these same issues
  2. Is it wise to perform an OS downgrade or maybe to reinstall the 1.40 firmware or would that just cause more issues?

This is quite likely a hardware problem. The components that turn the backlight for the keys on and off could have failed and now they are permanently on.

Yeah let’s hope it can be fixed under waranty then.

I had exactly the same issue and I managed to fix it myself. Upon furter investigation I found that one of the patterns had become truncated to only 3 beats long, hence the 3 lit buttons so I tried copying a good pattern over the bad pattern and then played the pattern back for a few minutes. The 3 lights flickered multi coloured for a couple of minutes and then dissipated and the problem was gone. Must be a software issue with os 1.40.

I had to sent it in to Elektron for waranty. It is fixed now.
