Hi guyz , owner ( and super happy) of a syntakt , i decide to grabe a friend for her : the digitakt II .
First day here , and as usual i do the dirty work (os update , install ect)
Then testing standalone on windows , and to my (bad surprise) i hear crackles on my regualr overbdrige panel values .
Fired the synatkt : all smooth (12 tracks versus 16 )
i had to literraly double the buffer size (from 60 to 120 ) to get something workable : WHY SO ? (of course i tried diff usb port ect to finally use the one of syntakt : same thing)
I can get better perf on daw but still , this diff raised my concern .
Is it a known fact or some Elektron are working on ?
Digitakt 2 streams 42 channels over overbridge. The Syntakt streams 20, so perhaps that’s the reason? That said, the Digitakt 2 (and DN2) didn’t require me to change anything to get working on my 2017 iMac. Maybe the Syntakt at your regular setting was close to maxing the system out? Or, if you were running both simultaneously perhaps that added additional load? Not sure.
Hopefully you’ll get a more knowledgeable answer from someone, I’m just speculating.
Thks , no system is chilling , i have an RME interface … and used with DAW , all smooth , it is in windows driver mode that shit gets crap …
I know that windows driver are optimised for low latency (evene if they have one low latency mode)
But i need to use those to get sonarwokrs treating the sound from windows …
It’s a specific scenario but this hilgilted the diff bewteen the syntakt and digitakt 2
Thks anyway , i’m more conerned about the fact that i can’t edit samples (mute , cute a part , fades ect )
and by the cliks fest i have with some maschine because we don’t have control about zero crossing (exept for the slice one)
Also i would love to stretch a certain part of a sample not the whole sample …
