Hello! I have a really frustrating issue which is driving me nuts because it doesn’t make sense.
For a while now I’ve had my DFAM synced with my Digitakt II using the Mother 32’s as a MIDI/CV-converter in between. I have a midi track on the Digitakt which sends a pulse using a 2 step pattern with trigless trigs. Basically parameter locking CC#7 at the values 0 and 127. The CC#7 messages is in turn sent from the assign output on the mother 32 to the DFAM adv/clock in.
Usually this works as expected but now my projects are getting ”cursed” where this function stops working properly. When it malfunctions it only makes the DFAM advance 1 step, until I press stop and play again. When fiddling with the knob on the MIDI CC page, the DFAM starts running so it seems like the problem lies in the Digitakt sequencer not outputting the pulse data properly.
When this happens I have to go back to an old working project, save as new, and then copy missing patterns from the cursed project. Usually this works (although frustrating and time consuming) but sometimes the ”curse” follows with the pattern I’m copying.
I call it a curse because it’s a glitch that affects the whole project, even midi tracks on patterns and banks I haven’t even touched.
Yes I’ve had some issues with clock pulses because it seems there is no standard way to do it.
Your way is ingenious but doesn’t sound like it’s going to be fast enough and also gives you a 50 50 high low signal which may not be what the dfam is expecting.
A volca, cvocd or an fh2 would sort it but may be overkill.

If you select clock or clock tick and run on the CVocd it gives you options for the pulse in ms and loads of clock rate options.
Edit. Trying to get your method to work. Have you tried running it at one step on and 3 steps off and increase the track speed? Or some other variation.
Thanks for your reply. It’s strange because this method has been working for me for more than 2 years (used to have the OG DT) and now sometimes it won’t. Which makes me think this DT2 firmware version have midi cc bugs that needs to be fixed by the Elektron crew.
Unfortunately there’s a track speed limit of 2x, which is also my setting for the 2 step tracks. Otherwise I would have tried your 4 step idea.
EDIT: changing to another CC channel seems to have solved the problem. Still a mystery but an easy workaround for anyone with similar issues!
