Digitakt II 1.01A : Bug reports

Private club, however, will try with DT1 later. I don’t expect too much.

DT1, red original USB cable, MacOS Mojave
Different settings (Overbridge | USB Midi | Audio/USB in system settings; USB | Midi-USB | Midi | disabled (!) in Midi settings) (all permutations)

Max u/l speed transfer 1.5: 0.63 MiB/s (little slower in overbridge mode)
Max u/l speed transfer 1.8.6: 0.59 MiB/s (little faster 0.60 MiB/s in overbridge mode)

My tests on DT2 now suggest the USB/Midi tweak doesn’t make any difference to the speed … it’s all abound 0.3 MiB/s. Might perhaps make a difference to reliability (not tested).

That’s strange, with the DTII I also had only speed up to 0.44 or so (screenshots way obove in this thread). Hoped Overbridge Digitakt may have a function for transferring samples, but doesn’t look like that.

Worth noting the FB guy now claims to have transferred 17-18gb without errors.

Lucky guy :four_leaf_clover::sweat_smile:
First I misread: worth nothing

hmmmmm I just tried with only USB cable, no midi connected to the DIGITAKT II, USB only in midi sync parameters. The speed transfer is still the same…

I think a few users have reported this.
I believe Elektron suggests returning the unit to them.

Is this the same random issue that was effecting the e25’s?. I know people like white screens but those old yellas never had any problems and these new ones seem unreliable.

I didn’t hear of problems with the ST or OTmkii displays, maybe I just didn’t notice the respective threads.

Mine just started doing this last night (after owning it for 3 weeks). Im backing it up and trying a factory reset before I reach out to Elektron/Sweetwater and try to exchange it. I also tried my power supply from my OG Digitakt to see if it was a bad power issues. Its not. I’ll let you know how the reset turns out. My assumption is that is a hardware issue but hopefully I’m wrong and this can be remedied with a FW update.

I turned on my DT 2 the other day and one of the samples in the last pattern I was working on was inexplicably like a semitone out of tune

I dismissed it as maybe user error or my ear being off at the time of programming

After hooking it up to my computer to record over USB into logic, two of my samples immediately strayed to a semitone out of tune as well. Their initial settings could not be recovered from returning to a previously saved state

Not sure what’s going on, but there are definitely some bugs floating around in this thing and I’m assuming it’s not safe to record over USB until they’re ironed out

I think I remember this being mentioned in connection with pitch bend ?

Logic was only sending clock and no other midi messages, will search the thread for anything about pitch bend though- thank you

Edit - the previous issues were related to pitch bend returning to a value above zero after using it - I haven’t been using pitch bend at all and all the values are still at their normal positions

Does anyone here have access to the beta firmware? Im experiencimg right channel crackles…i would love a link!!!

1.01A is up on the Elektron site and has been for a while

I believe there is a beta firmware out there that has an additional fix regarding right channel issues. An inch ahead of 1.01A
