Digitakt : External battery / Power pack options?

the adapter I have for on the battery, already contain a 12 volt ac input. I assume if you buy this one in the link below, you can directly connect them to any Elektron machine with a double male ac connector.

Oh wow! I see now

That’s great. Sorry for the misunderstanding and thanks for a great tip :+1:

Cheers!

Does it mean there is to sacrifice the usb port? I am looking for a compact solution but if possible I would like to avoid using the usb port of the DT to keep it for midi duties

@Vague_versatile it uses the regular barrel power input on the DT. It doesn’t use the DT’s USB so that does remain free for midi

Ok really cool!

This is what I use for Digitakt and Syntakt - works fine. You need Power Bank that can deliver 12Volt 2 Amps for Syntakt and probably a bit less for Digitakt

You can connect to 12V barrell output of the batery or to USB Power Delivery with PD 12V enabled cable.

I’ve just found out that the Anker Power Bank, Power IQ 3.0 Portable Charger with PD 25W Max Output (PowerCore 25W), 10,000mAh Battery Pack does not provide enough power to boot the Digitakt. It turns out I mis-read the specs and it only provides 1.5A at 12V. Back to amazon it goes.

I’m trying the Anker Power Bank, 533 Power Bank (PowerCore 30W), Power IQ 3.0 Portable Charger with PD 30W Max Output, 10,000mAh Battery Pack next, as I specifically want a 10,000mAh pack to keep the weight down and I’d like to stick to brands I’ve heard of. I’ll report back if this works. The specs suggest it should.

Edit: the Anker Power Bank 533 PowerCore 30W has arrived and works well powering the Digitakt via the Birdcord 12V PD cable.

I’m powering up Digitakt off of 18 Watt external battery and it works fine. Even my Syntakt works with 18 Watt. For sure it’s a load for a battery and it is better to use more powerful battery pack to not to put stress on a battery…

regarding omnicharge as much as its great , tips are not compatible with digitakt tip (yikes!) so buying ā€œbundleā€ whatever does not make sense, but do buy the one with AC wall socket for the wall plug

closest i could try plug in and it fits at least is this blue one but it has a nail inside which digitakt power cable does NOT have and digitakt does not boot anyways :frowning:

I use the myVolts step up adapter with the 65w powerbank and it works great! Enough power for my digitakt and digitone.

Have you timed how long you get out of it?

Not yet. But according to the PowerMyGear app 3h42m

Here’s the solution I’ve landed on. I already had several makita batteries for my cordless tools, so I just bought the usb attachment and the BirdCord. One of these 5 AH batteries goes for a looong time. And then I have more I can just swap out. Loving it.

Here’s what I use for M:S and now DT2

For the DT2 I’m getting : https://bit.ly/4bgS6Lf

For Model:Samples I bought : https://bit.ly/4bk0KZf and works perfectly.

I use these two powerbanks and both deliver well.

how much time you getting on the DT2?

Brilliant solution!

I’ve yet to let it run down enough to take note of. Right now with my schedule I’m able to take about an hour or so to engage and have been fine for power. I will make it a point though to pay attention to how much time I can run on the powerbank hopefully this weekend and will report back.
