Shit. Got me thinking again how to reuse old laptop batteries (pouches) for this. A 3d printed enclosure with a steel or aluminium base plate for protection whould do the trick.
Attaching to the vesas is tricky, as the battery pouch would be in the way.
But… magnets!
Had the pouch idea initually as an internal battery for the Syntakt but the battery was bad and I gave up. Some “new” old laptops with pouch cells did arrive in the meantime so maybe I’ll tinker if I find a little time.
I’ve acquired the cord you mentioned above and purchased the Anker 20k 87w battery pack that someone below mentioned.
For the first week it worked no problem but as of late it has not been. It powers on but then basically freezes at the logo screen. Any ideas why it would suddenly stop working?
When it freezes at the logo screen, that would generally mean that it can’t draw enough power to handle the surge on startup and finish booting the OS. I can’t really tell you any more than that because you’d need to know exactly how much power your digitakt draws on startup and then again, you’d need to know exactly how much power the battery pack is putting out at it’s max. Not what amount of power it’s rated for, but the actual performance.
I went down the battery pack route for an mpc previously, trying to find the exact right thing. but what ended up being even better was just getting a laptop power bank with an AC outlet and just using the power adapter.
Works with all my gear, don’t have to worry about it
Cool! I might just buy the powerbank and that voltage tip and use the USB-C cable that comes with the powerbank ! The only downside is that the tip is Pink haha, black would be the way to go ! Thanks!
