Midi config us easily accesible on the DT2 without combinations
In the MIDI Ports menu, you have set OUTPUT TO to MIDI or MIDI + USB?
I have had this and I’m trying to remember all the reasons…
Is your note length long enough? I.e. longer than the attack of your synth?
Accidentally locked a low velocity or some other trig?
Are you sending CCS?
Might be worth setting up midi ox or similar on laptop so you can see what’s being sent.
It’s for any DT.
It’s not in the MIDI Config menu, it’s on the MIDI Track SRC page

I use these two together all the time and I’m unable to reproduce this with a midi track machine. I can only draw the conclusion that you’re using an audio track machine, i’ll try that in a bit.
Anyways, in SRC unassign sample, then click FUNC+SRC to go into machine selection menu and choose the midi machine. After that look at what @Tchu wrote above about the track midi setup

Is it the correct adapter ( there is a type A and type B that look identical ) ?
Also, Check it’s plugged into midi in on S1, I’ve previously done both these in the past.

I think I remember there being a bug regarding using MIDI channel 16 on a previous DT2 firmware. Are you on the latest firmware? Have you tried a different MIDI channel?

No. I am injured and in bed and only have these two but i can try to sequence the s1 from my laptop tomorrow though i dont have midi on my laptop and cant use my desktop setup where my interface and everything is at present

it did indeed. Thank you!
I set the Midi out to Int+Ext and thought i can simultaneously use the track as midi and internal samples trigger and got lost in the menus.
Now i understand the structure i think. So if i choose „Midi“ the track becomes Midi (only) and thats why other functions disappear. I was trying to bring them back which resulted in an endless back and forth until i realized what you describe.
I am getting there ….
