Digitakt 2 payback off

Gearheards,

Has anyone experienced odd payback timing on all projects and pattern? Not one pattern is recognizable. They sound like they are written by a someone who just mashed buttons. Total unlistenable garbage.

I can’t think of a setting that would cause this. Any help would be appreciate.

Thanks in advance
Brad

Try turning down the suck. Sometimes I have it cranked to 11, without even realizing it. Usually, if I try turning it down to at least unity, I can create something that is not totally cringe to listen back to.

You have to keep practicing if you can’t find this knob yet; it can be unlocked by getting high scores.

If this doesn’t work, you could also try submitting a ticket to Elektron support.

Good luck!

If you’re using sample chains and your pattern is made up of slices or cut up in the grid machine, make sure that the desired grid division didn’t accidentally get changed. If it’s playing more than one slice at a time, or if the slices are starting at the wrong places it might sound weird and messed up.

Look at all LFO settings on all tracks, especially if you have some LFO settings P locked to steps, especially if any of your LFOs are controlling sample slot.

If you have an external midi controller or any external midi source plugged in either USB or DIN midi, I’d try unhooking that and see if there’s any impact on playback.

Make sure the sample direction didn’t get changed to looping or reversed if that wasn’t your intent.

If you’re working with drum loops or stems that are at a certain bpm, make sure you didn’t accidentally change the project tempo. Also make sure there isn’t an unintended mismatch between the scale length in pattern and global for any track that seems particularly impacted.

Otherwise, you’ll need to be more forthcoming with information and communicate clearly to describe the problem to us in detail because you aren’t giving very much to work with.

Was it always a problem? When did the problem start? Does it happen in all projects? Does it happen in a new project? Do you have another version of your project saved? Does it happen when you load that version? What happened right before the problem started, were you trying to do something else?

Total unlistenable garbage sounds like a lot of music I’ve heard so you’ll have to be more specific about what you’re hearing and describe the results from any changes or tests that you’ve done so far.

Good luck.

Mine sound like this too but I assumed it was lack of talent of the person using them ( me )
