does someone have the same problem, after updating DT2 to OS 1.01, the Midi Learn function doesnt work anymore;//
Make sure the required channel is live, I e. Try on track 1 to prove or disprove anything is ‘broken’ or not and look at your settings in detail
On Channel 1 it works
But if i want to take Track9 on Midi Ch1, it doesnt
On my OT its working easily
we’re not talking about the OT, it’s a different beast
you have to ensure as i highlighted that the
that doesn’t mean activated within MIDI mode, it means you need to ensure this channel is already setup within the appropriate channel settings midi page (9 is maybe a bad choice if you look at other default values too btw)
like i say, look at all the settings, see what works out - my hint is to ensure the channel you hope to midi up is active already
I came here to find out if Digitakt II has the same MIDI learn function OT does.
I’m getting pulled back into purchasing a DTII and joining the Elektron fold again.
I use Loopcloud on my Mac in Ableton so have been eyeing a DT for a while - then the DTII gets launched.
Tempting!
Note that DT 2 is not yet supported in Loopcloud.

That’s alright, my bank account doesn’t yet support DTII either.

I have the same problem…MIDI LEARN is not working for me.
I’m on 1.01 as well.
CORRECTION:
It works when setting up all the channels in the MIDI CONFIG menu.
That means, it doesn’t matter, which MIDI channel you have assigned you MACHINE to.
For MIDI LEARN, it matters what channel you have assigned to your track in the MIDI CONFIG menu.
This seems pretty weird?!
Hope this makes sense.

I managed to get MIDI learn to work, I had my midi cables were not directly connected from the DT2 and Virus TI2 synth. I’m confused tho after mapping the filter from my Virus to one of the knobs I tried to live record automation while tweaking the physical knob on the virus but It didn’t record any of the movements. The only way I can actually record the automation is when I turn the soft knob on the DT2. Why is that?
The whole idea for me was so that I could record the automation from my virus directly.

Just trying out MIDI learn on firmware 1.02. I’ve navigated the fact that I have to set a Track’s channel to the one emitted by my sync on the Settings > MIDI Config > Channel’s screen, not just on the SRC page for the track. And I’ve successfully managed to get it to learn the incoming CC number.
However, after I’ve done this, turning that knob on the synth doesn’t change the VAL on the Digitakt II’s track. Am I right in thinking that although it’s learned the CC number for what CC the Digitakt II should emit, the actual control of the VAL parameter is still stuck to only respond to whatever CC number is published in the MIDI implementation chart (e.g. VAL1 is CC70). I assumed that once it had learned a particular CC number for that parameter then receiving that same CC would control the parameter.
Could anyone confirm that I’ve understood this correctly?
Wouldn’t you get a midi loop/feedback if that was the case?
Hmm maybe, wouldn’t it depend if the synth is configured to emit the CC it receives (I can’t think why it would work that way)

I didn’t see this response yet, but wanted to add that after a lot of frustration, I have only managed to get the CC Learn to work specifically if: [On DTII] Track Channel must be same as Midi Channel Incoming. So for Trig 13, Midi Channel on DTII in Midi Menu needs to be 13. [On Ext HW] Output channel set to the Midi Channel (13 in this case). I can’t Midi CC Learn on Trig 14 with Midi Channel set to 13 and HW set to 13. So for now, I will just use a blank pattern and use Trig 16 with it set to Midi Channel 16 to program new HW presets.
I have the same problem with Midi Learn. I checked all the tips in this forum and applied all setting in the menus. I still have not managed to get midi learn going if I connect my Digitak 2 to an IPAD and a synth app. Tried it with moog synths and some others.
I already asked in the forums if anybody has successfully managed to get midi learn working with an app.
Up to today nobody has reported that. I was hoping that there is a fix to the problem with the latest firmware but it is still not working for me 
same problem here between digitakt 2 and whatever pedal
