Has anyone encountered an issue with overbridge not "syncing’ to Digitak 2 (not in the midi sense, as in not detecting Digitakt)? I have it connected via USB on PC, and while it shows in Ableton that Digitakt is active as the audio interface the overbridge plugin makes no sound (yet the audio tracks in Ableton can tracks still “hear” Digitakt on main 1/2 since I can see it on the level meters). Inside the overbridge plugin non of the samples in the currently loaded DT project are showing, none of the LFO are running, as if the plugin is dead and can’t detect the Digitakt. Unplugging Digitakt from the USB port and plugging it back in fixes the issue, as does switching out of overbridge mode and back to it again on DT2. Then when you quit Ableton and reload the project the issue comes back until you unplug and replug the USB cable again.
Yes I have the same issue in Cubase 15 Pro, very annoying!
It comes down to, when you ONCE opened the project in Cubase and the Digitakt II, and close the project again, and then re-open it again, Overbridge is not detecting the samples etc, and the plugin just does not work at all anymore.
The only fix I found to this is going in to Settings > SYSTEM > USB CONFIG > (changing it from Overbridge to USB MIDI and back to Overbridge again). This reboots the sample library and Overbridge in general without having to unplug the unit or performing a hardware reboot, this action can be done with the DAW and project still open.
Still very annoying, I tried everything, but the only solution is to configure the USB CONFIG this will prevent you from unplugging or rebooting as this can be done software wise or perform a hardware reboot on the Digitakt II, or reconnecting the USB cable…
You can’t use Overbridge and the Digitakt as an audio interface simultaneously. It’s one or the other.
You might be right on that but the same thing is happening to me when I have my Focusrite or AudioFuse Studio set as an audio interface?
This just started happening to me too, in both Bitwig and Cubase.
First load works, but on the next load (new or old projects with Overbridge) the plugin looks connected but it’s dead - nothing loads and there’s no response to hardware changes.
Overbridge Engine status flickers between idle and active.
Restarting the engine or switching USB mode only fixes it until the next load. It’s driving me nuts.
Overbridge v2.25.3, Digitakt 2 v1.15B, Windows 11.
Update: Also seeing the exact same issue with Syntakt and Overbridge.
I’m running latest Overbridge with DTII and ST on MacOS Sequioa and I’m not having any issues.
Is everyone else in this thread using Windows? If you run ‘winver’ in a ‘Run’ dialog (Winkey + R), what specific version are you on?
It’s also possible that a Microsoft patch borked something.
Do you have ‘USB Selective Suspend’ disabled in your current power profile? It could be possible that Windows is putting the USB port into a power saving mode. You can disable the above setting to prevent this. There are also power saving settings on the ‘USB Hub’ devices in ‘Device Manager’ that can be disabled. This is the internal USB hub on the system itself and not an external hub.
Lastly, have you reported the issue to Elektron Support?
Edit: From the Overbridge FAQ, Tips & Tricks thread:
Just another user posting issues similar to everyone else above. Nothing confirmed but potentially the culprit. Check your ‘winver’ as above and confirm if you’re running the latest update with this core MIDI.
Yeah I’m on Windows 11 25H2 (Build 26200.8037)
USB selective suspend is disabled
Just reported it to Elektron support.
Checked Event Viewer and system logs, I’d expect to see USB or device errors there if it was that, but nothing shows up.
From the log it looks like it connects and opens fine, then immediately drops:
Opened device
Device disconnected
Error: broken promise
That repeats every time after the first load.
Same thing with both Digitakt II and Syntakt.
Maybe there’s some general fixes in this Microsoft dev blog:
This article also mentions some KBs that might be problematic and worth trying to rollback:
Thanks for the suggestions. I disabled the Windows MIDI service entirely, but no change. Reverting the last Windows update didn’t help either, and since those specific KBs are already merged into my current build, they can’t be uninstalled individually.
Beyond that, I did a clean Overbridge reinstall and stripped out my Korg USB-MIDI drivers to rule out their known interference with device enumeration/ports. Still getting the same disconnect on the second load for both DTII and Syntakt. Still waiting on a response from Elektron support
There was a message saying response times would be slower this weekend.
The simplest “fix” at the moment, as Levien mentioned above, is going into the usb menu on your elektron device, switching the usb mode to something other than overbridge and then switching it back to overbridge.
edit: My bad, i see you’re already aware of this from one of your posts above. Seems every windows update just breaks more stuff than it fixes ![]()
Just to update: Overbridge 2.25.7 seems to have fixed this issue for me.
