Deluge sequencer erratic jumps when midi synced by FL studio

Hi,

Currently on 1.0.1 (Amadeus) community firmware, Deluge is set to receive midi clock and transport from FL studio.
I play some tracks in FL, and sequence external synths with Deluge.
Never had any problem before. I worked 2 months ago on a project with this config, everything worked.

I just reopened it today: Deluge sequences skip some steps, resulting in totally erratic unusable stuff.
I didn’t change any setting since last time I opened it, I really don’t know how and why it happens.
With a new fresh project, the problem is the same, even with internal synth or audio tracks.

Did some of you faced this problem too?

I don’t have a deluge, but would highly recommend to try deluge as a slave of a non computer device.
Computer are non real time and I had similar issue of midi jitter/lag with computer.

If it work fine with let’s say another drum machine, then you have an issue on your computer.

Thanks for your answer, for testing I’ll try with Digitakt as master, which is currently used only as audio/midi interface in this project, with transport and clock set both as send and receive.

But I find it strange, as it worked before.
I’ll also look at FL midi settings.

The Deluge is pretty tight at sending MIDI clock, in my experience.

Do you have a spare audio output on your interface?

If so I would run audio sync from the computer to the Deluge and then slave the DT from the Deluge.

It’ll be tighter and you can adjust it by hand until everything’s perfectly on the grid.

Sadly no spare output, as DT is the interface between computer and Deluge.
I forgot to explain first the setup, sorry:

Midi: computer -> DT -> Deluge -> Typhon
(DT & Deluge both send and receive clock and transport)

Audio: Typhon -> Deluge -> DT -> computer

This worked before, and allowed me to record some stuff in FL from these 3 hardware machines, taking advantages of Deluge and DT sequencers.
A little delay on audio was audible, but I could fix it manually. It also gave some groove
But not working anymore :frowning:

I’ll make some tests on monday, when back at home.
If still not working, I’ll do it the old way: sequencing Typhon from FL, and recording loops from hardware sequencers as audio :frowning:
