My Rev2 Decksaver is pretty tight, but it came with padded strips. The strips move a little when you use the lid, which I felt was a crappy design. It’s not caused any problems yet, and they sent me replacement strips as remedy for the shifting after I asked them about it.
Sorry that doesn’t help with your S37. Maybe worth contacting them to ask about it?
If there is no replacement option, a little 100 grit sandpaper should make short work of those sharp edges. Maybe clean up with some 200 after so it is nice and smooth.
Thnx for the advice.
I can easily remove the end panels and work on the wood part until it fit, but the cover itself should be placed on without applying preasure…
Expanding on this a little: i would use 200 grit to get rid of any seams or rough corners on the inside of the decksaver. If the fit is extremely tight, 100 will take material off faster.
Don’t even think of using a Dremel or similar rotary tool - hand sanding will take off material very quickly. Use one of your COVID masks while working to avoid inhaling tiny plastic particles.
Felt Tape. Google that. It’s usually polyester now. Often used for weatherstripping and such, so available at Home Depot and those sort of building supply types of places.
I’d like to put in a recommendation, for US based folks, for Ace Hardware or similar locally operated shops. Often their selection is tailored to the local market, and often the people working there REALLY know their stuff. HD is fine when you know exactly what you want, but the little guys often have near-magical knowledge.
UHWMPE tape can also be really nice for applications where surfaces need to touch and slide, but you don’t want the compressability of felt and felt-like materials.
Head the exact same issue in 2020 - got in touch with Decksaver explaining the problem and suggesting to release a new version with soft padding on the sides. They said they’d look into it, took their time and fast forward 1,5 year later here we go - Moog Subsequent 37 cover - Decksaver
