Deals -- Perennial List of Things on Sale - GAS Warning!

Still like that Repro? I’m interested in a VST poly and now we have Diva/Repro and the new TAL J-8 on sale.

This video is very impressive:

Yes.
If I didn’t already have it, I’d be buying it on this sale now, for sure.
Since I have a good controller for it , it kept me from buying an analog poly.

Is that the ‘standard’ repro, i.e. it can be used without buying a native instruments controller?

You don’t need an NI controller. NKS ready just means its already mapped to their controllers. I do not use NI controllers and I use Diva / Hive 2 a ton.

The ad copy reads like it. It says “NKS ready” but doesn’t imply any sort of proprietary nature, which I’ve also never hard of uHe doing.

I just wanted to chime in as a heavy uHe user and say this is a great deal. Zero spam in that bundle. The effects are as good as anything else I use for mixing and the instruments are my absolutely favorites of the many that I own. I feel like they’re a really strong and responsive company as well. No fuckery to be found. They do great work, interact with their user base fluidly and always move things forward.

If I had to choose just one I think it would be Repro-1. The fact that they tossed the P5 in their for fun just blew my mind. They could have easily asked twice what they asked for the Repro 1 for it and folks would have paid, but that’s just not their style.

The one caution I always give re: their plugs is that they’re CPU hungry, so demo and make sure your machine is up to the task. It’s becoming much less of an issue with current generation machines, but they used to be too hungry for some folks’ older computers.

I agree. I hate to admit but I used their software :pirate_flag: for years. Recently I have gotten serious with music and have purchased a lot. No one will be disappointed with UHE products. Top notch synths and efx.

Here are a couple of quick demo cuts I did of some track ideas. Diva only on the synth. If those sounds don’t sell, not sure what else to say :alien:

Thanks, I was aware that u-he’s stuff generally works without NI controllers.

Was just nervous that these (very good) prices maybe gives you a special license that checks for presence of NI controllers. NI’s not doing this deal out of the goodness of their hearts

That’s how I also understood it, just wanted to see if anyone can confirm. If u-he has never done that before, it makes me feel more confident.

That is exactly what I’m looking for. Oh and Repro-5 :grinning:

It appears to me that maybe NKS is new to uhe so they’re pushing it with the sale.

Uhe is not the type of company that would do that Imo.

I can’t remember if I read it somewhere, but maybe the licence is not transferable for u-he purchase on NI. Anyone know if the licences are NFR (not for resale)? Actually according to this thread last year, seems they are regular licences.

I’ll also note that uHe’s subforum on KVR is really well utilized by the users and company. I’ve never read GS-like bickering and the company gets really granular about their work, which is fun to see and follow.

Repro-5 is easily the best sounding plugin that I ever used. Yesterday I blind-tested it against my Rev2 and the result made me re-think about my whole way of making music. In all rounds I liked Repro-5 more than the Rev2 and I spent a lot of time matching the settings on both.

Yeh I think so too, I’m pretty sure NI had a similar big discount sale on the AAS plugins (Chromaphone etc) when they became NKS compatible.

They actually already did an NKS launch sale in early 2019 for the launch of the NKS support… maybe they’ve added some new functionality? Or maybe they just fancied another marketing push

Off topic, but how is NKS? I don’t have any compatible gear. Shame that it is a closed standard, I’d love to hack together something to display NKS on Push!

I rescind my heart.

I quickly scanned the first couple of pages of that KVR thread shared above, and last year not all u-he stuff was on sale (only the ones with NKS support were).

Seems this year more stuff is on sale, so maybe (my own deduction) they released NKS support for some additional synths/FX and therefore this marketing campaign.

Or maybe they just decided to do some marketing.

Could well be!

Which other u-he stuff is worth looking at seriously during this period? I have Diva (from the last sale) and Repro (from this one), and bought Satin several years ago. Don’t know much about their other stuff.

I’ve heard good things about Presswerk.

In that KVR thread people were bemoaning the fact the FX wasn’t on sale (last year), so maybe look at those?
