Here we are in April and spring has officially sprung itself on us, as it always has done.
For some, spring is when the world wakes up after the long nights of winter. For many folks spring is festival season. For some of us, spring will bring the rains—maybe cleansing, maybe flooding. And for some, spring’s just a stepping stone on the way to summer.
So for this challenge, I’m calling open season in the spirit of spring—interpret the concept however you want, but try to capture the spirit of the season.
Is it the chirps and dwoops of newly returned birds at dawn? or the snap of firecrackers and barking ice cream trucks? Is it a tightly coiled track that shakes off icy leads to embrace the warm glow of analog? Is it the prayers of Pesach or Eid or Easter? Or is it a sound that means something only to you?
It’s all up to you—just keep it under 6 minutes!
THE RULES:
—Create a Drum & Bass or Jungle track that captures the feeling of spring wherever you live.
—Keep it under 6 minutes!
—Use any gear you want.
—Post inspiration tracks in the thread!
—Send me a WAV/AIFF/FLAC by End of Day FRIDAY, May 1st!!!
I’m in. Just for clarification: does using a spring reverb classify for this battle? Just kidding…I’m in a good mood, weekend is finally here and even the weather feels like spring where I live. A new battle is just the cherry on top.
I have something brewing. First battle after half a year break.
My inspiration was a lyric about spring, a certain style of DnB (and a new synth, ahum…).
Started yesterday so I hope it will work out.
