I have been playing with custom LFO designer and the ‘interpolation’ feature.

Is there anyway to interpolate between just the first and law step to create a smooth saw?

or to put it another way - how can I create a smooth saw LFO (with a few custom tweaks to it) - eg use the LFO designer to make a unipolar saw?

No. You need to set all the steps to be interpolated; and set each value appropriately.
