Custom 3D Printed Slim Case for Digitakt 2 & Digitone 2

How does the PLA Case hold up against the heat?(Digitakt and Digitone do they get warm?hot? per se?) As I thought about trying it for the syntakt, but I think I would need ABS, as the PLA gets soft from too much heat. Great Project BTW.

A recommendation for infill in general is Grid-infill with 20-40%

First prototypes was print in PLA and the only things I can say is about the solidity, the PLA cases were more fragile than the cases printed in ABS, and yes as you said, ABS is better against the heat, that’s why I recommend to print in ABS.

I’m really thinking about trying this out on my SYNTAKT, hope it fits

I don’t have a syntakt, and if I remember correctly, Lavern Wilson said the internal PCB aren’t the same than DT/DN so my model won’t work with Syntakt.

Ah ok so, your placement of the “holders” inside the case could be out of place or in a different size than SYNTAKTS

Probably, I’ve never opened a Syntakt. I cannot confirm that it will be fine.
And I think that the components on the PCBs are not the same between Syntakt and DT/DN so there is also a problem related to the spacing between the two PCBs.

When I have time and the possibility to print again, I will give you a heads up on the syntakt

So today the case arrived. I had to do a lot of corrections as they printed the screw holes with lots of deviations so i ended up filling the holes with epoxy resin and then drilling new ones better centered and used Black wood screws.
Worked like a charm.

Amazing. It is now more than half a Kilo lighter. Imagine this. Imagine taking half a Liter of Milk off your Digitakt. Or 5x 100g chocolates. It is so much lighter.
Even with a 20.000 Powerbank it is almost almost 200 gr lighter than the DT inside its original case.
Thank you Fatty!

i am just printing one, so can check in the evening… anyway not sure with syntakt as it gets bit more hot than the two digis… anyway going to try anyway, my case have almost become a two man job, so any weight cut will be great. best would be also two part print for octatrack

still printing but from the first look the upper holes placement seem roughly same… but there are 3 extra screws on the bottom, also questionable whether the top would fit under angle, as there is quite high coil in the bottom corner… lastly, as 3 screws in left bottom corner are also labeled analog ground, they should be at least connected with wire when mounting to non conductive material…

so seems not suitable for syntakt, would need couple mm higher front side to have more clearance…

there are higher caps and coil. otherwise the holes placement is the same, so all elektron boxes of this size are the same with the standoffs. those 3 missing standoffs were even in my dt2 box.

Thx for looking into this!!
