For the music I do now, this is the perfect setup: DN2, PUSH3 standalone and Torso S4…
it sounds like that:
We ain’t getting paid unless slinging so replace the audience with fun and I agree.
Cool and powerful setup. Noisy, I like it.
3 is my limit nowadays, not counting the PC, I/O, MIDI, FX, etc.
I’ve settled on the following until they break. ![]()
Current:
- Octatrack
- Akai Force
- [Long-term space reserved for keyboard synth w/ sequencer, preferably an Elektron]
Waiting to see what Elektron does, periodically checking used prices of DNK & AK.
Taking my time, no rush.
It does seem like you could do with a synth. Force is nice, maybe even a bit underrated and didn’t they discontinue it?
Yup, I could use a HW synth, but I’m ultra picky nowadays and am content with VSTs for now. Plus I don’t have much space. Used to have tons of synths and Eurocrack, but now maintain a ‘tiny’ setup to keep it fun and stress-free.
I heard that the Force hasn’t been sold in ~2 years, but isn’t officially discontinued yet? It’s still receiving updates. Rumor is Force 2 is coming soon, but I probably don’t need it.
Two turntables and a microphone are where it’s at.
Digitakt, Syntakt, MiniFreak.
Pretty crazy what you could with that. I imagine a Digitone would be even more nuts.
I’ve tried a lot, but currently couldn’t be happier than with the combo of DNII, DTII and ST going into a dj mixer
(post deleted by author)
- Ableton Push 3 Standalone (nothing to add here)
- Mooer GTRS Guitars Wing 900 Int AGR (headless Guitar with build in multi effects and amp modelling)
- Dirtywave M8 Tracker (for mobile fun)
would basically replace my current collection when it comes to functionality xD
Toverk - TEO-5 - H90 is what I have at the moment and very happy with it. It seems to have stopped me constantly searching for the next thing.
This is what ended in my travel studio case:
- ST
- DT1
- Micromonsta 2
(+ Faderfox UC4 for control if allowed
)
If we’re allowed to dream, I’d take polyphony and midi arp+retrig on my DT1 (I would upgrade to a DT2 just for this)
I‘ve concluded that three pieces are ideal a long time ago, so most of my setups have been just that over the last years. The individual pieces have varied quite a bit though.
Currently, I‘ve landed on MPC Keys G2, which is MIDI keyboard and production/recording center; Tonverk, which is the music making center (drum machine and synth); and a couple of Chase Bliss pedals that can add secret sauce to my TV sounds or vocals.
For me it’s the Digitone II, Digitakt II and whatever other synth I’m into at the time. Currently it’s the Iridium Core, which is hooked up to the DTII for sampling DTII.
I think if money and space wasn’t an issue I’d love a Polybrute 12. I played one in a shop for a while and found that I clicked with it immediately. It would be totally wasted on my meagre key playing abilities though.
- TR-1000
- Tonverk
- Torso S4
TTT
Are the guitar FX tweakable while playing or do you need a controller?
I dunno ^^ I assume it has USB midi so maybe the push3 could change presets…but there is a companion bluetooth footswitch available…the actual sounds are tweaked in the app on your phone
From the stuff I own I would defenitely keep:
Syntakt, Subsequent, Digitone 2
although I really like the dreadbox typhon
Digitone2 • Tonverk • Neuzeit Drop
