CT-S1000V, singing synth from Casio

Fun comparison of CT-S1000V and Yamaha’s new PSR-EW425 arranger

  • CT has a vocal synth, PSR has mic input

  • CT has chromatic sampling, PSR sampling is one-shot

  • Keybeds are different

  • Both have excellent DSP effects

  • CT has assignable knobs for modulation, PSR has the Motion Effect button

  • CT tones have editable envelope parameters (attack, release). PSR’s do not

  • PSR speakers are louder

  • Sadly, no comparison of the most interesting - to me - aspect of arrangers - the auto-accompaniments

Has anyone else picked one of these up?

Craig Anderton and friends teamed up for a review. Here Anderton experiments with the vocal synth

A few posts down, they finally try out the auto-accompaniment.

Anderton’s demo of all 23 vocalists

One negative observation:
"But it does get noticeably harder to press towards the fall board, and for more agile, softer and nuanced playing, this keybed does slow me down. "
