"crossfade" between patterns

Maybe someone here understands the concept of A4 more than i do.

What i would like is to crossfade between pattern A1 and A2

So that pattern A1 fades out while pattern A2 fades in (slowly evolving low frequency drone)

So far, with the adsr etc set up the way i like, its working well.
I have 1 note on track 1 and 1 note on track 2 in both patterns, so when switching patterns it is not possible to hear the transition between the two patterns.

BUT when engaging (unmuting) track 3 and/or 4 in the mix, there is this “hard” transition that sounds very obvious. And the “smooth” transition disappears.

I know theres only 4 notes polyphony, but isnt it possible for four notes to “hang” while another four is taking over on a different pattern?

Two notes on each pattern works fine but not with 4 notes.

Is it because of the max polyphony or could there be a workaround for this?

four voices is four voices ! wet delay or long 'verb might be your friends if you don’t have an OT (or a spare A4)

i see two solutions for your problem:

[ul]
[li]why don´t you use 2x2 voices not placed in the mid but let´s say 25 +/- from the mid and with massive chorus (from my point of view, the chorus broadens the sound quite impressive and to some extend surreal) instead of all four[/li]
[li]or start first with 4 voices and before the transition blend out one voice after another and on the other side blend in one voice after another[/li]
