Creating stems in ableton and use them on octatrack

Hi all,

I have been reading the forum quite a lot but there is a bit of overload. Most of the time I make synths, basses etc in ableton. I sync octatrack with ableton. I would like take 8 bar or whatever loops out of ableton and import them into octatrack. So I can arrange the track. I like arranging real-time. Is much more fun. I know that 44khz is the best bit rate. At the moment I just recorded 16 bar loops in arrangement view in ableton and exported them as individual tracks. Is this the best way or are there better ways to do it? I also have a Digitakt connected to octatrack hence I can host quite some tracks. Any tips or references to other topics are welcome !

Export your tracks as 44.1khz, 24 bit wavs.
Put them in folders for your organising pleasure.
Drag and drop from your computer to OT via usb.

Not much more to it really. Long samples on OT, one shots on your DT I guess?

Yeah similar. I keep the bpm the same. So I can have longer sequences on the Digitakt.

i let octatrack do the “timestretch” usually its time compressing and not streching as i don’t like the artifacts it adds when slowing down a loop…
