Say for example that I have a Digitone and I have created a nice pad sound with a long release that loops over 32 steps. Is there a way that I can record this into the Digitakt on the second play through so that it captures the release of the pad at the start? I used to be able to do this on the Octatrack by placing a trig that would activate recording (I forget this feature name), though with the Digitakt, it is only possible to to record via threshold or just pressing record.
As I am using a Digitone, perhaps it is possible with trigless / conditional trigs to have the volume off once every few playthroughs and then come on (triggering the threshold of the Digitakt)?
Another option is just to record the second playthrough and trim it to a 32 step perfect loop, though that is not exactly a science…
