Create perfect 1bar sample from sampling main input

Is there a trick how to create a eg. 16 steps long (R.LEN) sample in the Digitakt while a pattern is running, which starts sampling exactly at the 1 step of the pattern and stops at step 16 (input MAIN L R )?
The octatrack has such a feature, you just have to set a record trigger.

My not-so-great trick is to set R.START to Play and press STOP & PLAY briefly to match the rhythm. But is there a better way?

In my opinion, Elektron could a nice feature to the RECORDER R.START=>START AT STEP 1. Should be easy.

If you set recording length to 1 bar and then arm recording it should start when you hit play and stop after 16 steps.

Yes, i know. But i want to use this during a pattern is running for live remixing

You have to stop the sequencer before using PLAY START quantized recording.
Threshold is worse.

Yes, i know. But i dont want to stop the sequencer. I Want to do it while performing

Not possible with quantized start without stopping. Can be part of performance !

Oh ok. Yeah, that’s not possible.

Did a feature request for this to this email…we will see

Another issue is that the sample needs to be saved and then loaded into the sample pool , eventually assigned to a track or triggered as part of the ‘sample src’ parameter.

Good luck with the feature request.

I’ve had good luck entering the sampling menu and pressing YES at the beginning of the desired bar, then pressing the keys to put it in a track with trigs in already (yes + yes + [trig]), it can load a bar or two later.

If you want to loop just one bar and the delay isn’t already essential to the pattern, you can do a control-all trick: delay time to max, then control-all delay send to max, wait a bar, control-all amp or track level to 0…

Yes, i also got quite good results with just trying to hit YES in RECORD at the 1st step in a bar and then assign it to a track. But it is not perfectly quantized.

Not sure if i got the second part of your message right:
You are suggest to do a transition to the sampled bar with some weired delay?

The longest delay time is one bar. You can adjust the delay time to max, then fill the delay buffer with all the playing tracks. (It’ll be mono, but you can use the filters on the delay page to high-pass it out over the next pattern, if the delay there is also set to max time.)

Interesting idea, but using this technique the sound generated by the delay sounds …dont know a propper word…not nice

Or use manual sampling with quantised response.
OT really is the superior sampler.
