I would not believe any info Chinese is putting out. And if anyone needs to be held accountable is the Chinese Goverment. Thank god for some brave Chines citizens that literally put there life on the line to try and warn the world.
I don’t blame Trump for trying to keep people calm. How many will die if we let our world economy crash?
I’m a small business owner, there are many across the world. I employ 150 great people. If the economy goes down and I lose the company many will be out of work and I could lose everything I spent my entire life building, my home would be next. But what scares me most is having to tell good people they are laid off. Keeps me up at night.

I do not believe China’s official numbers, neither I believe a word that comes out of Trump’s mouth.
We might have to rethink economy, society and everything we think we know after this crisis, or at least that is what we should do.
But will be like in 2008, the working class will suffer while the rich seek market opportunities in what is left after the disaster.
The government should take care of small business like yours and your employees, not those wall street’s sharks that never loose a penny.
If this is a serious pandemic, as it seems, how do you pretend to keep going? If there is no quarantine maybe half your employees with you included get sick and your families too.
I have lots of self employed friends with small businesses too, they may loose everything too.
Meanwhile a friend called me today , she has been sick for a couple of days now. She works as a waitress and was working until the quarantine started.
Has all the symptoms plus is asthmatic.
She had not contacted emergencies yet, I made her call because asthma puts her in the high risk group. She has to go tomorrow to check if there is pneumonia, most probably she has covid19.
If I have to choose between my friend’s well being or the economy then economy can go to hell.

There is conspiracy theories for every taste. Like the pneumonia deaths because of vaping in US last summer, like the military Olympics in Wuhan 3 months before the outbreak…the event 201, a pandemic exercise Oct, 2019…
I do not know if it was someone’s plan gone out of control or just a natural thing…It is not like if is going to be the end of the world but until we develop immunity, vaccines or meds we are kind of f****d. If economy has to stop, let it stop, because sooner o later it will have to stop.
The question is - have the patients been treated with Ribavirin, this medication is known to cause liver problems in elderly people. While the Sars pandemic, they had treated people with that medicament in extreme doses, possibly with extra fatalitys due to this treatment.
There is nothing in the media about what has been done to this patients. Only that they died - what where the exact measures they did to these elderly people. What would have been the alternatives to this treatment.
This media agenda introduces panic in the people, and there are no questions allowed???

Maybe look at who owns the pharmaceutical companies that are producing them then? The workers who produce the medications aren’t the same people who get to keep the profits.
Literally nobody has to die if the economy crashes. Even after 1929 the only significant increase in deaths was from suicide. We have more than enough resources for everybody, but the wealthy people pulling the strings would rather let millions die than allow that wealth to be redistributed.
Maybe it’s time to consider other ways of organising our society rather than continue pumping infinite money into a market that crashes and requires bailouts every few years whenever it fails to hit the insane ‘growth’ targets that are destroying the environment and exacerbating inequality.

So do you see Spain’s divergence from Italy’s trajectory as significant? There will be differences. Speed of infection is an obvious one.
I’m not the person to explain the variables. But I can imagine there are variables.

There is no treatment yet, they are all experimental, several antivirals have been used ( article in spanish, from two weeks ago. )
The problem is not the liver, is double pneumonia which requires tubing the patient. How do you think an 80 year body responds to this treatment? 95% of deaths are on those over 60years old, of those 90% are over 80.
Moving a tubed patient is very sensitive, and nurses have to do it with PPE’s on which makes it more difficult…
Should we let the elder die? Go and tell your grandpa or father that he has to die in the name if economy and see what he thinks about it…
