Copying Entire Tracks + Patterns

Hiya

Apologies if this is well trodden ground, but the last thread I saw that was similar was a few years back, and I wondered if anything had changed since.

I want to put together a template, so I have my scenes set up that correspond to particular FX changes. This means that I’ll need to have my tracks sort of laid out with a common logic, e.g. Track 1 for drum loops, Track 4+5 for melodies, 6+7 for FX, 8 for vox… and so on.

The problem is that I’ve already got songs composed where I’ve not followed this approach, e.g. drums on track 5, melody on track 1, and so forth. I would like to go back and re-order them so the drums are on track 1 etc.

Is there an easy way to copy an entire track with all of the parameters, as well as the pattern - and move that entirely over to a different place, or is it always going to involve two separate copy/paste actions? Any pitfalls I’m missing?

Thanks!

Any data above the transport controls is PART data.

Any data below the transport controls is PATTERN data.

These are treated as 2 separate things on the OT. So yes, 2 seperate copy paste actions.

No short cuts.

That’s a helpful way of describing it - thanks. I’d read that before but it’s easy to forget.
