My latest moniker is ridiculously long. I like to annoy the guy in charge of the artwork.

From here: https://www.acronymfinder.com/DTR.html, I liked “Dark Torreador Red” better than “Dundee Tunnel Research”, which I believe was actually a math-rock band from the 1990s.

I know, you should call yourself Considerations for picking an artist pseudonym or CFPAAP for short.

That’s great. And titles should be long too.

I have had many releases out under various names, somtimes I find outt theres an artist somewhere with the same name, it has never had any impact on me, or my work. The internet is so saturated with music, its almost inevitable.

Changing names is a pain in the neck, especialy with all the many platforms to administrate.

I dunno, I just dont think it really matters.

Why not dtr[Vandoren]?

Yeah I don‘t know, you could take these dtr letters and spell some thematic words…

Dieter Van Donk! Perfect techno name!

Interesting you say that! I lived in France as a child and it’s still traumatic to me that no one around me could pronounce my name right

Don’t worry about it too much. From my days playing in metal bands your name can be completely stupid sounding. The difference is , if you are good people will think it sounds cool. IF your not. Then people won’t think it’s cool.

or “dtr dtr”

maybe (also agree with everyone else that your name already sounds very Techno.)

Whenever I start a new project with a new name, I check two things first - I check to see if the name is being used by another band/artist, and I make sure the domain name is available. I always hate seeing websites for bands that have “music” tacked on the end of it because the domain name was taken ie. The Wild Buffalos domain name being thewildbuffalosmusic.com (Not a real band/website - just an example).

Just a minor point but perhaps worth investigating if you’re serious. If the domain name is available, secure it right away.

Doesn´t sound bad at all…

What kind of electronic music do you produce?
