Connect Analog 4 to pc for first time

Sorry for the stupid question but I have spent 45 minutes trying to figure this out. If I want to connect my a4 mk1 to a pc for Sysex dump and upload, do I use overbridge or C6? Is C6 still compatible with windows 10? it doesnt seem to offer the option of usb connection. Is there a good manual or tutorial video?

Every time I try and interface a synth with a pc it causes me sooo much bother!!Ha!

Thanks in advance

Use C6.

I’m not a Windows user, but I believe it is. You can presumably try for yourself.

On the AF MkI, make sure that you:

  • Set OUTPUT TO to “USB” in GLOBAL > MIDI CONFIG >MIDI PORT CONFIG menu;
  • Set USB CONFIG to “USB-MIDI ONLY” (not “OVERBRIDGE MODE”).

The C6 manual is good. Make sure you follow the ‘Setting up the software’ instructions.

Thanks for help peter. When I do the bit that says
“Click on [Conf] and select the MIDI In port and MIDI Out port from the two lists.”

There are no options to select on the “midi in” list and only Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth on the midi out…

Is that correct. No explanation given in the manual.

Have you made the settings on the AF that I previously listed?
