Compression sound of oto boum vs. oto bebe cherie mixer

does anyone own both of these oto boxes? would love to hear how any in person experience informs the sound of compression of the boum and the bebe cherie?

i heard that the boum is hard to control live perhaps? i’m not looking for a distorted sound at all. i’ve heard the bebe cherie in person and really love what it does for the live aesthetic of the stuff i’m playing. the only problem is that the box is too big to carry around. the boum seems to be a slightly more reasonable size. but worried it won’t sound the same…

Curious to know as well. I do have the BOUM and would agree it is pretty heavy handed when it comes to the compression. Hopefully you’ve found Bebe to be a bit more subtle.

i have only used boum and can say that it is not hard to use live. just keep the settings on the lower / more conservative side. also use the dry / wet control to mix the clean and compressed signals.

i aim for a clean and full spectrum live sound and found boum to work just fine.
