Coming soon

That’s been bothering me for quite a while. To me it doesn’t feel like Elektron have a coherent design overarching all their instruments in place and I would be happy if they remedied that by unifying things across all their products.

This new thing looks like limited version of old Electribe ESX-1, which is actually cheaper now.

I wondered whether it could intentional, especially if they make a new range of cheaper products that share a similar design.

They would still feel somewhat distant from the other units that have similar buttons shapes etc though I guess.

At first I thought that too, but it far exceeds the ESX-1 if you consider sequencing and sample management, which are make-or-break for me at least. Elektron sequencing in particular makes the ESX-1 sequencer look like a deflated balloon.

Agreed. I also think the new design for the Analog MKIIs is less compelling than the old one. They just look… weird. The Octatrack redesign was spot on though.

I think the new one is not good looking, but the icons are fantastic. I feel the icons aim for a sense of “fun” that the physical design lacks.

Off topic comments need to dissappear from this thread.

Comments about the fact this new machine looks like a cross between a volca and one of the low end Boss drum machine ls should continue.

That was already said about the Digitakt, when it got released. Then came the DN and it got repeated. Now it’s the third time in a row. That’s quite a long running fund raiser …

(IMHO more it’s more like a fairy tale to keep the hopes up)

Regarding the price, the color reminds me another white Elektron device that started at 400 € and that you can now find new for 180 €. If they share the same success, it could be one of the cheapest sample players on the market by 12 months.

I was gonna say this too, it’ll be dirt cheap secondhand while probably bringing DT prices down a bit too. Might eventually snag both.

Nice new machine  I hope the stickers from Datalines video are included with the machine

So… what do we think the link between this and the Model: Samples was? Could Simon have been telling us there are actually two devices being unveiled? :open_mouth:

I like it. The fact that it’s portable is a big plus. As well as the strong 90s vibe

I’d be delighted, but I doubt it.

Yeah I’d like to see them included
