Machine:Sample?

OK, enough with this one - shall we start speculating what the DT new firmware will include? Seems like a more interesting topic. They better have something in their sleeves for namm.

Ha, oops! This thread is moving so quickly!

That’ll be a second-hand OT. Which actually represents great value. I picked mine up for 650 euros.
This new machine looks cool. Good idea I think. As usual second-hand market is best place to look when buying Elektron gear.

lol you think so?

Simon just ā€œCenk’dā€ us there with a great little video. Can actually see this and an OPZ as a lot of fun to play with.

Not pretending I have the faintest, but this really is the right time to unveil an OS upgrade for DT where it gets its ā€œdrum computerā€ functions. Today it is a sampler that’s great for drums, but certainly not a ā€œdrum computerā€ anymore than filling it up with meditation bowl sounds and Tibetan Buddhist chanting would make it a ā€œdrone computerā€.

best demo of them so far, but the product is a big mistake

I’m not sure that people saying that are suggesting that the Model: Simples can beat (yea, I said it) the DT and thereby replace it, rather that, despite words to the contrary, it will diminish in importance.

I did that with my Electribe ESX-1 for that very reason

Why?!

my main concern is how this will affect support and development for the current product lines… I’m really hoping we get some new (reasonable) features / bug fixes for Digitakt soon.
Then again, these products don’t use OB, so I think that will take a lot of headaches out of the equation.

Me too. Still kind of hoping for it

I’m imagining a whole line of model devices with a Model:Mixer that is fed the usb output of all the other model boxes(this model:mixer feeds over bridge)4 of them at $400 wouldn’t be far off the price of a a4 / rytm Mk2!

Yeah I agree, whatever happens my DT isn’t going anywhere. It’s a keeper. I’ll be sad if Elektron abandon it early.

I kinda want a drone computer…

That sounds great. I’d love, and would consider paying for, a meaty upgrade to the DT OS.

NO Sampling :heat:

It’s pretty interesting that the discussion is largely the same as when Digitakt was release - everybody was discussing it’s place compared to the Octatrack and how valid it was as an instrument in of itself.

I’ll write the same thing as I did then:

This is not a replacement for anything, it’s a different machine with a different set of functions and workflow.
