Combining banks from multiple projects WITHOUT Octaedit

Hello good people,

I just finished an album and am now about to prepare a live version. The songs are spread out across two different projects. I would love to be able to combine them into one project, though from what I can tell this is impossible because there will be too many slot assignment conflicts. I am told Octaedit can do this, but I never owned it and I believe the beta of V2 is only available to existing users – which makes sense.

So – I wonder if anyone has any tricks up their sleeve from the pre-Octaedit days.

In the post i linked i try to explain how to transfer a bank across projects, whatever the number of the bank. Don’t mind the intro, just pay attention on the how-to part. You can assign it to Bank 1 or 12, it is the same. I’ve been complaining over and over i could not change transfer a bank to another project and i was feeling out of despair to group songs i started before understanding the structure of the OT. I was reading soooo complicated methods with .ot files and so on, i tried weird methods before giving up. Today i saw this option Export to Set that made me think maybe the first idea of the OT file structure was not the one we know. Why would someone have a different set?
