Double click [Playback] so you can see the Slots.
Select the Slot you wish to clear.
Press [Function] + [Edit]
Press [Effect2] aka “File”
Use the [Down Arrow] to select [Clear Slot]
Press [Enter]
Press [Enter] to confirm.

Note: There is a bug in the OS where the Sample Slots do not get updated till after you move off the slot; so it will still appear to be there, until you move to another Slot.

Of course you could also just add a new sample over the top of the existing one as well…

Double tap the track button (beside the screen) and hit Function + clear

Power tips

Was trying to avoid that one for a new user in case they accidently “Clear Pattern” instead.

Maybe this is for some help for beginners, as it took me 30 minutes to delete some sample slots:

Quick assign menu: double press on the track key (copy, paste, clear operations for sample slot list possible)

SRC setup menu: double press SRC, with right you also get the sample slot list, but copy/clear/paste will effect your pattern

for Octatrack beginners it’s not like: RTFM but study-the-fucking-manual-and-try-again
