Chromatic Step Mode

Per step, I cannot assign individual notes. I have to record in chromatic mode “live”.

The problem: When I start my pattern, sometimes the first step on the voice does not fire until after all 64 steps of my pattern have fired.

Bug? Expected behavior?

Either way, I’d like to be able to enter a single note and assign it to a step on a single voice. This is a huge oversight IMO.

Check to see you haven’t micro stepped the first step before the sequence. That would prevent it from playing on the first run trough of a pattern.

Also for individual notes hold the trig and assigne the note using the encoder on the trg page.

Thanks for the response @jefones!
Quantizing globally fixed the missing first note issue.

But also, the “trig hold” gesture plus the microtiming button allowed me to find that I was slightly before the step, and so I adjusted and all was good. Thanks for the tip!

For chromatic step entry hold and assign works great!

Got a used Arturia KeyStep (MIDI keyboard) and I’d like to specify that you must set it to ‘Auto Channel’ (Channel 14) and set your Midi Port Config to receive Trigs and Params to hold down a Trig in step sequence mode and hit the note on the KeyStep to assign it to the step. This is MUCH nicer than entering the note with a knob.
