I’ve been looking for free sample packs to use with my Digitakt, and it’s been hard to find any sample packs with chords labeled by chord type. For example, for a given instrument or synthesizer patch, I would like to have at least a sample for each most common chord type rooted at C3, for example C, Cm, C5, C7, CMaj7, Cm7, Csus2, Csus4, C7b5, etc. Does anyone know a free sample pack with this kind of samples? I’d like specially pianos and pads. Thanks!
I haven’t found any sample packs like that, but they must exist, especially for classical instruments like piano and string ensembles, etc. What I did was create my own in Ableton Live to make samples of common chords held over 4 bars, for example, then put them in a neatly organised folder for transferring to the DT. You might want to think about doing some lower and higher octave chord samples too, unless you dig the slowing down or speeding up of the attack phase as if you’d sampled a jazz record or whatever
