Chase Bliss Audio / Cooper FX Limited Edition Generation Loss

Looks like the Generation Loss got stuck inside of a Chase Bliss. Limited to 1000 units. Only available on Reverb.

Got the email this morning. Certainly an interesting surprise. It looks really well thought out, and not as deep / complex as some chase bliss pedals can be. I’m seriously tempted, but I have to resist for now.

The part of the knobs demo with the digitone sounded really cool! Very tempting.

Wow!
Seems great!
But buy one from Europe (with customs etc) in the end would cost nearly 500€!

I like everything CBA makes, but pedals at this price point are generally a no go for me.

Still think it’s awesome:
I had an original Generation Loss and love the concept.

Yeah I know! I too love CBA pedals, but it’s just too expensive to get them overseas. I have a local store that sells some of their pedals but it’s still 450-500 euro. We should all write them to get them to open up shop in Europe!

Elektron should do that in the US as well I guess?

Damn Knobs and his talent, I guess he could make sing and sell me a cucumber.

Anyway, price is not the only problem with CBA. Why mono, still and always?
I guess it’s just for giving me a good reason not to consider any of their attractive stompboxes…

I love the sound of it, still. Add AH on top, could be very interesting…

This sounds like my DECO (as chorus) going thru Timeline LoFi setting. Very similar.

Dayum :cowboy_hat_face: got myself a mint one of these on Reverb just now. Whole town’s so excited, you’d think there’s a rodeo going on, with corn bread and all.

Whistles innocently as he walks by…

What’s that? It looks like he left something behind?

I’m kicking myself for not getting one when they were selling for ONLY $500 just a few months ago. I somehow missed it when it was released but I just can’t fork out $800 on a mono guitar pedal. Post demos when you get it!

What?! How’d you manage that? Most of the time, I see them posted for exorbitant prices. Makes me wish I got one when it was announced. Any advantages over a standard generation loss?

I got it fairly cheap, considering. Part of the reason I pulled the trigger. And they don’t come around often, so I just went for it.

No idea about potential pros and cons vs original  it was literally posted on Reverb as I was browsing. ’Tis a sign I shall have it and play it.

The biggest difference’s are that the Chase Bliss version has a wet volume, midi, and presets, and also the ramping dip switches on the back. Cooper FX has said that future Generation Loss models would feature wet volume, midi, and presets, but not the ramping. It was supposed to be earlier this year, but probably Covid setbacks and whatnot. If you are after the Generation Loss sound, I would suggest just being patient and waiting for next batch from Cooper FX. Or, if those extra options don’t matter much, save some money and get a used Cooper FX one. Although, since he hasn’t had a batch in a while, they are probably also overpriced on the second hand market.

As a side note, Cooper FX also has their newer Arcades pedal, which has swappable cartridges that turn it into different pedals. There is a lo-fi card, and I wonder if it shares some things with the Generation Loss.

Ah yeah, I figured the basic behind-the-scenes functionality baked into the Chase Bliss gear was part of it. I wasn’t sure if there was more.

I almost picked up a Generation Loss earlier this year, when there were many available for around $250. Too bad I didn’t – they are listed around $500 right now! Thanks for the heads up on Arcades. I’m not necessarily looking for any fx pedals at the moment, unless they’re truly unique and/or can add to my setup significantly & easily. I’m finally getting the setup dialed in to a point where the creativity is starting to flow. Ironically, that happened as I have slowed / stopped accumulating gear.

Ignore me. This is for the original not the CB. Ersion.

Just an update to what I was Talking about earlier, Cooper FX posted this pic today, and it looks like there is a Generation Loss cartridge for Arcades. Pretty cool concept for a pedal to completely change out what it is with a cartridge.

Edit: And it looks like they will be available August 18th.

Can’t wait to hear what you come up with this . Love your tracks. Listening to some of your stuff made me head in a different direction recently . Lowered the bpm and chilled it all out a touch lol
