I’ve tried for 2 days straight every possible way with 2 entry’s .
I seem to only be able to do one or the other.
I didn’t work with the cur setting for me…
pattern play is one page so is it possible to do it all in one entry?
Yes correct C0 on the Analog four was C-2 in ableton I was aware of that and even tried all the octaves when placing midi notes
In the picture I have a clip in ableton on C-2 “pattern 1” then it goes to C#-2 “pattern 2”
In the other clip I have C3 for transpose then G3 for transpose and that works perfectly.
as soon as I launch the pattern change clip it interferes with the transpose clip
Okay I just did this thing in Ableton.
In multi map I set up the transpose as it is shown above
With the patterns; I chose pattern play, set the range, set pattern for A01, pattern inc to 1, transpose 0, transpose inc 0, change mode D. Start.
Works fine here!
Additionally, I was just using notes to transpose and change patterns (at the same time) I wasn’t sending any program change messages from Ableton.
We’re you using 2 seperate clips one for patterns and one for transpose sent to midi channel 8?
I was just using one track. You could probably use two to keep things clean.
Did you do it with one entry or 2?
Two entries one for transposition (just like the photo above), and one to change patterns (as described above).
In my photos on the mk2? Because that’s not working for me

where did you split it and what notes did you put the midi notes on ?
It’s cool.
I split the transpose at C0-C3, program changes C3#-F6(I think). I just set the transpose split then scrolled to the bottom and hit add entry.
Then on that entry I set up the pattern changes, as described above.
The midi notes in Ableton were shifted as mentioned above, but I don’t recall exactly what they were.

Being able to arrange in ableton and create the patterns on the A4 would be great

Totally possible to create your masterpiece as you see it, I think. You’re almost there, give it another go tomorrow I guess. This thread should get you there.

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread but I am having an issue changing patterns on my new-to-me A4 mk I.
When I have a pattern playing (lets say A01) and try to cue another pattern (A02) to play, the sequencer stops once A01 reaches the end of it’s sequence. The next pattern will start blinking like it’s going to change, but when it comes time it doesn’t.
edit: direct start and direct jump modes behave as expected, this problem only persists with the sequential mode
I’m pretty confused because this doesn’t happen with my DT…
Any tips would be much appreciated!
I ended up getting the hang of it all… it takes a bit to understand the elektron way
only thing I can think of is that you might have arrangement mode active?
never had the sequence stop after playing a pattern… maybe someone else might know
