Hi guys!
When changing patterns on my OT (and a4 which is connected), i also change kits on my tr-8.
I like the fact that that Ot also changes patterns on my A4 but dont like the idea of changing kits on tr-8 since it changes drum sounds and level.
The pattern stays same on roland but kits change, which i’d like to avoid or at least have all kits the same so i dont have to worry about drum sounds and levels.
So basically, 'd like to jam on my OT and A4 but i would like the drum kit on roland to stay same throughout.
My midi configuration is Ot midi out to A4 midi in, A4 midi thru to roland midi in.
ANy thoughts or other ways to make it work in a better way?
Many thx
Change MIDI channels so that the tr-8 doesn’t get triggered?
THat worked, thx!
But what if i wanna change the kit of tr-8 when i get to pattern 5 on OT for example?
Have the OT send a trigger only on the tr-8’s midi channel, I guess. I’m not experienced with OT MIDI.
I don’t know but can’t you just use the midi out of A4 to send clock to TR8? Haven’t tested it, don’t have OT!
You could set up the OT to also send a Program Change message on the TR-8’s MIDI channel when you change to a pattern on the OT that is linked to a different Part.
Sorry, didnt get this
what parts?
olibol, midi clock works fine
I mean isn’t it easier to change on the fly? Tr8 has A and B pattern and fills? So that would be 3 dif prog changes?
Parts are the equivalent of kits on the Octatrack. If you’re not already familiar with them, I recommend that you read about them in the Octatrack’s manual.
