Does it? On what?
One thing I love about A4 is the Pulse Width has its own dedicated modulators.
lfo to filter is huge, close to max on juno, ok juno lfo is slow compared to a4 so its a bit eeerrrr trying to match
i cheated with unison
i’m not a huge fan of the sound, i just like synths.
That said, getting interesting results by setting user envelope pitch mod depth a little differently on OSC 1 vs OSC 2
there is also a hp setting of #2 iirc to remove lo end , adding a 12 dB hp on a4 seems to get somewhat closer
i love the sound, not as much as when i was a teen and the juno came out like but still, sometimes i just want to smash some simple hoover into a 909 and be done for an hour banging my head
i dont use OB but it does seem somewhat advantageous looking at that
anyway for someone who doesn’t like the sound you are being helpful in making me think around my issue , also this ia good distraction for anyone hehe
one-voice effort
Could you share your pitch envelope settings?
can you post the patch garf please, i would like to see the difference between yours and mine
sure! but i have no idea how to get patches off this thing…
pretty much the same env settings as me
that osc 1+2 pitch mod is that called osc x on mk2?
i am intrigued how the sound is laid out not using unison,
me neither, i assume midi dump to midi ox or something
that single voice effort sounds great
settings:
sysex dump:
sysex send:
have some software ready to receive and press go
if you manage it great, not trying to put you out
Use YES+Sound to save your sound in the sound manager
While C6 or other MIDI software is set to receive:
Navigate to that sound in sound manager (func + sound), hit yes to check it, use the right arrow to open the menu, scroll to bottom and select “SEND SYSEX”
oh and @garf you’ll also have to get out of Overbridge USB Config mode and into USB-MIDI
does this work?

I love a good Hoover. Can’t beat this in my opinion… 4 minutes in.
Because of this thread I just discovered that the A4 does PWM on all the osc shapes (just like the Alpha Juno).
Because of this thread I’m now looking at used A4’s online.
Because I love hoovers
The A4 is bananas!
Not only do you get PWM on all OSC shapes, the dedicated PW modulators PER OSC mean you don’t even have to use the envelopes or LFOs for the PWM.
Happy hunting!
indeed it does
and you should get one
hahahaaa i am glad to come across more hoover lovers
