“Showing the general public that even in a flagship group such as cats … there are still new species to be discovered may transmit an important message,” said Eduardo Eizirik, an evolutionary biologist at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil and senior author of the study. “There are many undiscovered species out there in the world, and they are at risk of disappearing before we even discover them.”
That really is strange. If someone is having an allergic reaction first thing a doctor should say is “Do you have any pets?”…
It was in the 70s so maybe they weren’t that aware?
ah ok… luckily at least that sort of triaging is now much better
One day, we went to a car dealership because we were thinking about getting a new car, and there was this dude sitting in the salesperson’s office. We bought the car.
Handsome dude! And he’s the top regional sales-cat for three years running.
I can hear these pictures.
That first pic is an absolute classic! How old is Toby?
Thank you! He is two years old, my daughter got him for me from the Bend, Oregon Humane Society as my wife has finally given up and allowed me to have a Siamese, hahahaha. We got him as a kitten, so he’s really only ever known this house.
Pretty sure you could get them to arrange themselves in a heart shape if you bribed them with enough high-quality treats.
