Cannot sync punch in recording time because Syntakt plays without preroll

Having a real hard time using the syntakt as a slave to my DAW. I cannot set it to punch in at the right time when I want to record. It plays immediately even if I set the preroll.

If the daw is the master cant you just set a preroll in the daw and then same preroll in syntakt?

IIIRC, if slaved, Elektron machines start directly whatever the preroll is.
I’d use a dummy chained pattern, eventually song mode…

Pre-roll with midi sync?
