I’ll take the risk to not really answer your question… My own experience is
it’s incredibly satisfying to dial the sounds you have in your mind. It takes time to learn the machine, and both imagination and patience to discover new territories, but IMO the exploration alone is part of the pleasure. Go wild, try the weird, shoot the LFO on every target, and come back of the sound jungle with new techniques…
opposing sample and analogue is overlooking the treasure island. Sculpt the sample matter, make it dirt or shine with analogue polish, there are amazing textures to bring back from such exploration. Resample and feed the machine with its own output. Use FX to their limits.
There are some analog engine only sound packs (Don’t remember which one exactly) so yes, you can load more but analog engine only sound packs are few.
Dude, thanks! Something about them just sounds better. I had purchased a drum sample sound pack from the elektron sight but they just didnt have the same ooomph that the ones the machine came with have. ; ).
FWIW. this pack- mostly synthesis, was very eye opening for me - showing the power of layering in just a little bit of transient in the samples while having the body be synthesis driven.
