I am about to lose my sanity. C6 absolutely refuses to transfer any more than 12 samples at a time, if that, prior to crashing. In 15 minutes, it’s already crashed somewhere between 5-8 times. I am trying to transfer thousands of samples over, so this is an absolute dead end.
I tried searching Google for general transfer utilities over MIDI, but all I was able to find are SysEx specific utilities like SysEx Librarian.
Any thoughts?
And please don’t say C6 worked for you. I have the latest C6 version (1.51) with Mac OS X upgraded to the latest. C6 can hardly handle me dragging in hundreds of samples, much less sending them. It doesn’t matter how well it worked for you, this is simply not going to happen over thousands of samples.
Thanks!
Bonus question: I can’t find anywhere that actually tells me the available space on the +Drive for samples.
I saw that, but it only does one sample at a time and is built for adding samples directly into projects. The project sample library is very small. I am trying to transfer over thousands of samples directly to the +Drive, so unfortunately that does not work for me.
hi there, I’ll implement batch transfer to SDS Drop - stay tuned.
I think c6 and SDS Drop are the only applications in existence which can send samples using Extended MIDI SDS.
Is it possible that your AR memory is full ?
I don’t have any problem to transfer thousands of samples with good old C6 (well, apart the time it takes) : have you checked all the options (SDS check, etc.) ?
I do.
What is your OS ?
Do you have latest C6 version ?
I have the same issue, no way sending out more samples in a batch. It takes a very long time for the AR to digest the sample, while C6 keeps on sending new samples. It looks like there is no communication between the AR and the C6 application which tells the AR, yes send met the next sample.
I’d love to see a solution, just bought the SDS drop application, which makes me extremely happy, would love to see the batch version.
I find is quite disturbing that there is no way to see how much memory is being used and how much is still free
Hi – Im sure you know all the C6 settings but just in case, here is a little picture I did. Im sure it won’t help with your crashing issue but maybe the “Delay (ms)” setting could be the cause? What Delay do you run with in C6? Im fine @ 5ms but have never loaded more that say, 50 samples at once…
It will be interesting to know why the Rytm can’t be viewed as just another USB storage device, completely elliminating C6 for the task of sample transfer…??
On the Mac, the delay is specified in (ticks), whatever that means, but anyway, i’ve had mine set at 0 and never had any issues in general, but i do not send lots of samples

I apologise for my extremely terse post. It was late last night, and I was tired. I only meant that there is another app that you could use to partially determine whether it is truly C6 that is causing the problem, or some other aspect of your system. I hope you get the problem resolved soon; it must be very frustrating for you.

ah, so 16/17 or so ms - this setting may be more useful for midi speed transfers to older gear
.
haven’t had any issues with it set like this at zero - but from memory, there have been many instances where i had to add in healthy delays whilst using sysex librarian whilst sending stuff to various gear

no. my rytm is brand new (less than a month old).
i did check the options. i have c6 1.51 on mac os x el capitan.
where did you originally find the technical information to transfer file to the rytm? i could probably sketch out an application faster than trying to use c6. haha.
