Can moving sample folders in Digitakt via Transfer break a project?

I admit that i might have overdone it with loading samples to my DT2.

This combined with the slow loading speeds makes it a torture at times so i thought i might wanna scale it down and reduce samples.
However i have the issue that i dont know if moving the samples around, creating different folders, renaming folders etc could break a project? Or does the DT path to a sample stays intact regardless?

If all you’re doing is moving files and folders inside the DT2 (or DT1) you should not run into problems.

EXCEPT: temporarily ONLY, your current project might be affected. Best to avoid that by creating a new empty project first (with only factory samples, therefore) and do all your file management while that is open.

The reason this is all works is because the DT identifies samples by the file hash, which is a magic number that’s unique to the file. You might want to search the DT part of the forum for sample file hash or similar to find out more.
